Borussia Mönchengladbach's miserable start to the Bundesliga season plunged to a new low as Hoffenheim left Borussia-Park with a 2-1 win, consigning the Foals to a sixth straight defeat and last place with zero points from six games.
Buduele Conte put the visitors ahead after 11 minutes, sweeping home Melayro Prass's cutback. Wezley Mohya levelled shortly after the interval with an assist from Jonas Neuhaus, but parity lasted barely five minutes before Prass himself arrived at the far post to convert Adam Hlozek's pass and win it.
Deservedly beaten
The stats made grim reading for Gladbach: an xG of just 0.34 to Hoffenheim's 1.71, three shots on target to eight, and no big chances created all afternoon. The game also boiled over late on, with four yellow cards in the final minute alone.
Hoffenheim climb to 14th on six points and give Christian Ilzer breathing room, while Gladbach — beaten at home by Hoffenheim again after May's 4-0 here — are now eight points from safety already.
