Brentford struck first and led 1-0 at the interval, but the second half belonged to the visitors: two goals without reply completed the turnaround and silenced a home crowd that had every reason to believe.
The response after the break underlined Liverpool's credentials — patient buildup replaced by sharper penetration once the equaliser came, and the winner followed as the pressure told.
Brentford will wonder what might have been after a strong first 45 minutes, but the gap in control after half-time decided the points.
