About the League

The Super Lig is Turkey's 18-club top flight, founded in 1959 and contested from August to May. Galatasaray are both the reigning champions and the record holders with 26 titles.

The Super Lig is the top division of professional football in Turkey and one of the most passionately supported leagues in Europe. Created in 1959 as the Milli Lig, it drew the country's regional championships together into a single national competition and has been the centrepiece of Turkish football ever since, playing today under the Trendyol Super Lig banner. Eighteen clubs make up the division, each playing 34 league matches home and away across a season that runs from August to May. The champions go into the UEFA Champions League league phase, with the runners-up entering Champions League qualifying and the clubs behind them taking places in the Europa League and Conference League qualifying rounds. The bottom three are relegated to the TFF 1. Lig. Galatasaray were champions again in 2025-26, a fourth consecutive title and a 26th in total, which keeps them clear at the head of the all-time list. Istanbul's traditional powers, Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Besiktas, together with Trabzonspor from the Black Sea coast, have taken the overwhelming majority of Turkish championships, although Bursaspor and Istanbul Basaksehir have both broken through in the modern era. Fixtures between the Istanbul clubs, above all the Intercontinental Derby between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, are among the most intense occasions in European club football, and sides such as Samsunspor, Konyaspor, Alanyaspor, Rizespor, Kasimpasa, Goztepe and Gaziantep keep the middle of the table unusually volatile. OneLightScore covers the Super Lig week by week with live scores as goals go in, the full fixture calendar, final results, a continuously updated standings table showing the European and relegation places, top scorer rankings and where-to-watch details for each matchday, so you can follow the title race, the European chase and the fight to stay up all in one place.
