The Saudi Professional League is the top tier of men's football in Saudi Arabia, run under the Saudi Arabian Football Federation and known commercially as the Roshn Saudi League. Its roots trace to 1976, when a national top flight replaced a patchwork of regional competitions, and it took its current Pro League branding in 2008. Eighteen clubs contest a full home-and-away season running from August to May, with the bottom three relegated to the First Division League and replaced by clubs promoted the previous season.
