Liga 1 - Clausura

Peru

About the League

Liga 1 is Peru's top division, split each year into Apertura and Clausura tournaments whose winners meet in play-offs to decide the national champion. Universitario de Deportes are the reigning and record champions with 29 titles.

Liga 1 is the top flight of professional football in Peru, a national championship first contested in 1912 and today played under the Liga 1 Te Apuesto banner. Eighteen clubs take part in the 2026 season and, in the familiar South American pattern, the year is split into two short tournaments: the Apertura in the opening half and the Clausura in the second. These pages follow that closing tournament, in which every club meets each of the others once. The Clausura winner earns a place in the end-of-season play-offs alongside the Apertura winner and the leading clubs on aggregate points, and those play-offs crown the Peruvian champion and settle the country's Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana entries. Combined points across both tournaments also decide who drops into Liga 2. Universitario de Deportes go into the campaign as reigning champions, having swept both the Apertura and the Clausura in 2025 to claim a 29th national title, more than any other Peruvian club. Their rivals shape the rest of the competition: Alianza Lima and Sporting Cristal complete the capital's big three, while FBC Melgar in Arequipa, Cienciano and Cusco FC in the old Inca capital, Sport Huancayo, Deportivo Garcilaso and Sport Boys of Callao give the league a genuinely national spread. Cajamarca and Deportivo Moquegua came up for 2026. OneLightScore follows the Liga 1 Clausura from the first whistle to the last, with live scores updating minute by minute, the full fixture calendar and results archive, the current Clausura table with the play-off qualifying zone marked, top scorer and assist charts, and where-to-watch details so you can find the broadcast wherever you are.
