The Coppa Italia is Italy's leading knockout football competition, established in 1922 and organized by the Italian Football Federation. The modern tournament draws around 44 clubs from Serie A, Serie B and Serie C, with top-flight sides entering in the later rounds while lower-division teams begin earlier in the competition. Matches through the early and middle rounds are typically single-leg affairs, while the semi-finals are contested over two legs, home and away. The final is a standalone one-off match, traditionally staged at Rome's Stadio Olimpico. Where scores are level, ties go to extra time and penalties rather than being replayed. The winner claims a place in the following season's UEFA Europa League and faces the Serie A champions in the season-opening Supercoppa Italiana. Juventus are the competition's most successful club with 15 titles, ahead of Inter Milan's 10. Inter Milan won the 2025/26 final, beating Lazio 2-0 at the Stadio Olimpico to lift their tenth Coppa Italia.
