LigaPro Serie A is the top division of Ecuadorian football. The national championship dates back to 1957 and has been run since 2019 by LigaPro, the clubs' own governing body, which gave the competition the name it carries today. Sixteen clubs contest the season, which is played in stages: every team faces the others home and away, after which the table splits, with the leading sides entering the championship group that decides the title and Ecuador's Copa Libertadores places, the middle group playing for Copa Sudamericana qualification, and the bottom clubs contesting a relegation group that sends the weakest teams down to Serie B. Independiente del Valle are the reigning champions, having clinched the 2025 title with three rounds to spare for the second league crown in the Sangolqui club's history, confirming a rise that also brought Copa Sudamericana victories in 2019 and 2022. Barcelona SC of Guayaquil remain the record champions with 16 titles, and their Clasico del Astillero against Emelec is the biggest fixture of the Ecuadorian calendar. LDU Quito, the only Ecuadorian club to have won the Copa Libertadores, along with Deportivo Cuenca, Macara, Aucas and Orense, round out a league that has become one of South America's most reliable producers and exporters of young talent. OneLightScore carries LigaPro Serie A in full: live scores and in-play updates, the complete fixture list and results archive, the current Serie A standings with the championship, placement and relegation groups colour-coded, top scorer and assist rankings, and where-to-watch information covering the broadcasters showing Ecuadorian top-flight football in your country.
