About the League

Chile's 16-club top flight, founded in 1933 and decided over a single 30-round calendar-year season. Colo-Colo are the record champions with 34 titles, while Coquimbo Unido won a first crown in 2025.

Liga de Primera is the top division of Chilean professional football, the competition long known as the Campeonato Nacional de Primera Division and rebranded under its current name in 2025. Professional football in Chile was organised into a national championship in 1933, and today 16 clubs contest a single-table season played across the calendar year, usually from February to late November or December. Each club faces the other 15 home and away over 30 rounds, and the side with the most points at the end is champion. Chile used apertura and clausura half-seasons for much of the 2000s but abandoned that split in favour of one long tournament, so there is a single national title each year. The champion and runner-up go into the Copa Libertadores group stage, the next place feeds the Libertadores qualifying rounds and the following finishers take Copa Sudamericana berths, while the bottom two clubs are relegated to the second-tier Liga de Ascenso. Colo-Colo are the record champions with 34 national titles and remain the best-supported club in the country. Universidad de Chile and Universidad Catolica complete the traditional big three, and their meetings, the Superclasico and the Clasico Universitario, are the biggest dates in the Chilean calendar. Palestino, Cobresal, Huachipato, Audax Italiano, Union Espanola and O'Higgins are long-standing members of the top flight. Coquimbo Unido were champions in 2025, the first league title in the club's history. OneLightScore carries Liga de Primera live scores, the full fixture calendar, final results, the current standings with the Libertadores, Sudamericana and relegation zones marked, top scorer and assist lists, and where-to-watch details for every matchday.
