The Challenger Pro League is Belgium's second tier, where established professional clubs compete alongside the non-promotable under-23 sides of Jupiler Pro League teams. Beveren won the 2025-26 title and were promoted to the top flight.

The Challenger Pro League is the second tier of Belgian football, one step below the Jupiler Pro League. Created in 2016 as a restructured second division and given its current name from the 2022-23 season, it is organised by the Pro League and is contested this season by 15 clubs playing a home-and-away regular season from August through to the spring. Its make-up is distinctive. Established professional clubs such as Beerschot VA, RFC Liege, Lierse, Eupen, Seraing, Patro Eisden, Virton, Dender and Sporting Lokeren line up against the under-23 sides of top-flight clubs including Club Brugge, Anderlecht, Genk and Gent, which take part to develop players but cannot themselves be promoted. That mix of hardened lower-league professionals and highly rated teenagers gives the division an unpredictable, technical edge and makes it one of the better places in Europe to spot a player before he breaks through. The route upwards is competitive. The champions are promoted directly to the Jupiler Pro League, while the clubs immediately behind them enter a promotion play-off that can deliver a further place in the top flight. At the bottom, the two lowest-placed sides are relegated to the Belgian National Division 1. Beveren won the 2025-26 title and went up alongside Kortrijk and Lommel.
