Spurs squad cut lands before a busy Premier League weekend

Tottenham Hotspur have left Richarlison out of their 25-man Premier League squad. The omission is official, not a rumour thread, and it changes how supporters should read Saturday's Tottenham vs Nottingham Forest fixture.

Fabrizio Romano reported Roberto De Zerbi’s confirmation that Richarlison did not accept an Everton proposal before the window shut. “I don’t know if there is an offer from Turkey… but I know there was an offer before the end of the transfer market but he did not accept that offer,” De Zerbi said. “For me nothing changes.” Sky Sports News carried the same line and followed with analysis of the Brazil forward’s next options after the registration deadline.

Premier League clubs must lock a 25-man list of over-21 players. Players left off that list cannot be selected for league matches until January unless they qualify as under-21. Richarlison therefore cannot feature in this weekend’s Premier League fixtures for Tottenham, including the Forest game.

De Zerbi also addressed Mykhailo Mudryk, saying the winger is ready to play part of a game after a long absence. That is a separate selection note, not a substitute for the Richarlison registration decision. The Athletic reported Mudryk had not been in a matchday squad since November 2024 before returning to training under the new Spurs staff.

Everton, meanwhile, remain short of senior outfield bodies. David Moyes told Sky Sports News the club did not want to lose a lot of players and is now looking at the free-agent market after finishing the window with a thin senior group. That context explains why an Everton bid existed; it does not reopen Richarlison’s Premier League availability for either club this weekend.

Tottenham’s registered league squad is set and Richarlison is not on it, so Saturday’s Tottenham vs Nottingham Forest fixture will be played without him. The 25-man list is the binding document until the next registration window.
