Lazio agree three-year deal for Diogo Leite after Union Berlin exit

Fabrizio Romano reported that Lazio have agreed a three-year deal with Diogo Leite, the centre-back arriving after leaving Union Berlin as a free agent. The contract also includes an extra year as an option.

That is completed business on the Rome side of the table, not a rumour cycle. Leite was out of contract in Germany. Lazio moved for a centre-back who can go straight onto a Serie A roster without a transfer fee attached to the registration. The length is three years, with the club holding the right to add a fourth.

What was agreed

Romano’s Saturday briefing named the club, the player, the free-agent route and the term. There was no public fee because none was required after the Union Berlin exit. There was no competing-club auction described in that update. The story is the agreement itself: Lazio and Leite are aligned on a multi-year contract.

Leite’s last club context is Bundesliga minutes at Union Berlin, not a loan return or a buy-back clause. For Lazio the relevant fact is simpler: they have added a senior centre-back who is available to be registered for the domestic list.
