Leeds and Crystal Palace played out a tense 0-0 draw at Elland Road, with both sides creating chances but lacking the cutting edge to break the deadlock. The stalemate extends Leeds' winless run to four matches, while Palace will be the happier of the two sides with a point on the road.

The draw leaves Leeds in 16th place in the table, just two points above the relegation zone. For a side that spent heavily in the summer transfer window, there will be growing concerns about their ability to compete in the Premier League this season.

Leeds created the better of the early chances. In the 12th minute, Georginio Rutter found space on the left flank and delivered a dangerous cross that Wilfried Gnonto could only direct wide. Five minutes later, Pascal Struijk rose highest from a corner but his header was well saved by Dean Henderson.

Palace grew into the game as the first half progressed. Eberechi Eze was the main threat for the visitors, using his trickery and guile to cause problems for the Leeds defence. In the 38th minute, he played a delightful through ball to Odsonne Edouard, but the Frenchman's first-time effort was brilliantly saved by Illan Meslier.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with both sides creating half-chances but lacking the quality to find the back of the net. Leeds thought they had won it in the 82nd minute when Rutter's deflected effort found the net, but the goal was ruled out for offside after a lengthy VAR review.

The point sees Palace move up to 10th in the table, with their unbeaten run now extending to three matches. For Leeds, there will be real concerns about their lack of goals, having scored just three in their five league matches so far this season.

Leeds manager Daniel Farke will be particularly disappointed with his side's lack of creativity in the final third. The absence of injured forward Patrick Bamford was keenly felt, as Leeds struggled to find a way past Henderson in the Palace goal.
