The pattern was set early: Rayo carried the only goal of the first half, Getafe answered it after the restart. The 1-1 full-time scoreline was a fair reflection of a contest that swung once in each direction without either side finding a decisive second blow.
For the home support at the Coliseum, the second-half response was the takeaway; for Rayo, a point on the road keeps their steady start to the campaign ticking over.
What It Means
A draw apiece leaves both sides with a point from the Round 9 meeting — Getafe with something to build on at home, Rayo with reason to rue a lead they could not hold but a result they will not object to taking back across Madrid.
