Frankfurt edge Koln 1-0 at Deutsche Bank Park

Eintracht Frankfurt claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over FC Koln at Deutsche Bank Park on Friday evening, with the only goal arriving in the second half after a goalless opening 45 minutes.

The first half produced no breakthrough, both sides cancelling each other out before the interval. Frankfurt upped the tempo after the break and made their pressure count, converting the decisive chance to take all three points in front of a home crowd of nearly 60,000.

The win consolidates Eintracht’s position near the top of the early-season Bundesliga table, while Koln leave Frankfurt empty-handed after a disciplined but ultimately fruitless away performance in Round 6.
