The first story of the night was the delay, not the kick-off. Thunderstorms around Nu Stadium pushed a 7:30 p.m. ET start past 9 p.m. MLS and the club posted the weather hold. Apple TV remained the listed stream. The match then started and finished 2-1 to Inter Miami.
Casemiro headed the opener on 31 minutes from a Lionel Messi corner. Miguel Almiron equalized three minutes later. Luis Suarez restored the lead just before half-time from a Telasco Segovia assist.
What the delay changed
U.S. lightning protocol stopped the warm-up after strikes in the area. Inter Miami told supporters to wait for updates. A later window of 9:05 p.m. ET held once the storm moved off.
