One hundred and eighty-eight days. That is how long St. Pauli have now gone without a competitive win, and a heel from the substitute they needed most still was not enough to end it.
Arminia Bielefeld 2-2 St. Pauli. A 2. Bundesliga Round 4 share of the points on Friday 4 September 2026, 1-1 at half-time and 1-1 after the break as well. Twice the visitors trailed. Twice they answered. They still have not won this season.
Key Moments
Jonas Kersken’s clearance found Jannik Rochelt, who punished David Nemeth and lofted the opener past Ben Voll on 13 minutes. Nemeth atoned seven minutes later, winning the ball and sending Taichi Hara through for 1-1. Six minutes into the second half Rochelt’s free-kick was only half-cleared and Joel Grodowski’s shot, slightly deflected, made it 2-1.
Abdoulie Ceesay had come on at the interval. In the 65th minute Arkadiusz Pyrka drove a low ball across the six-yard box and Ceesay finished with his right heel. That was the last goal. Both sides made late changes. Yellow cards arrived for Pyrka and Maximilian Bauer near the end. The whistle left Pauli still hunting a first three points of 2026/27.
Why it matters
The standings after the result put Arminia Bielefeld sixth on 4 points from 3 matches (1 win, 1 draw, 1 loss, 6-6). St. Pauli are 13th on 2 points from 3 (0 wins, 2 draws, 1 loss, 5-6). dpa notes the last Pauli competitive win was 1-0 at Hoffenheim on 28 February, still in the Bundesliga. Oliver Kirch’s Arminia have a first home point of the new campaign. Pauli’s wait rolls on.
