Werder Bremen 3-2 Augsburg: Late show secures Weserstadion victory

SV Werder Bremen came from behind to secure a 3-2 victory over FC Augsburg at the Weserstadion, with two late goals turning the game on its head. The visitors had taken an early lead through Dion Drena Beljo, but Bremen equalized through Marvin Ducksch before the break.

Augsburg restored their advantage early in the second half when Beljo grabbed his second, but Bremen refused to be denied. Justin Njinmah levelled the scores with 15 minutes remaining, before Mitchell Weiser grabbed the dramatic winner in the 88th minute to send the Weserstadion into raptures.

The win moves Werder Bremen into the top half of the Bundesliga table, with Ole Werner’s side showing the fighting spirit that has become their hallmark this season. Augsburg, meanwhile, will be frustrated to have let a winning position slip, particularly with the game there for the taking in the closing stages.
