Inter Team News: Spence Rejoins Full Training as Dimarco and Calhanoglu Close In Before Parma

Inter's squad returned to work at Appiano Gentile on Monday after a week of rest, and the session offered the clearest picture yet of who will be available when Serie A resumes against Parma. According to Sky Sport 24, Cristian Chivu can count on several closely-managed cases moving in the right direction.

Spence trains with the group

Djed Spence trained with the full group for the first time — the strongest signal yet that the wing-back is closing on his Nerazzurri debut after a prolonged adaptation spell following his move from Tottenham. Federico Dimarco, who withdrew from Italy duty with a knee issue, worked only partially alongside his teammates after returning from Coverciano, while Hakan Calhanoglu continues to ramp up his workload as he manages the adductor strain picked up before the break.

John Stones remains the most carefully managed member of the group. The English defender trained separately once again, following a longer recovery programme than his teammates, and his condition is being monitored daily. Inter are unwilling to rush a player whose fitness record demands patience.

What it means for Parma and beyond

For the visit of Parma, Chivu expects to have almost all of his injured players back, turning a fortnight of rest into a genuine reset. With the Serie A restart now in sight, Inter's medical room is finally beginning to empty — and the timing could hardly be better for a side that needs momentum in the title race.

There is a knock-on effect for Chivu's planning beyond the fitness room. With Spence finally integrated and Dimarco available again, Inter can return to the wing-back rotations that defined their best spells before the break, while Calhanoglu's presence restores the set-piece and deep-lying playmaking hub. Stones's slower programme means the manager will prepare for Parma with the centre-backs who closed the last league round, and a decision on the Englishman's involvement will go right to the end of the week. Inter's supporters, though, will read Monday's session as the first genuinely encouraging injury bulletin of the autumn.
